Growing up, my mom was an elementary school media specialist (librarian), so I spent a lot of time surrounded by shelves of books. Some of my best early memories are of reading in the children’s section while I waited to go home in the afternoon or of the big stack of books we would take home from the public library. I can remember my mom reading Frog and Toad are Friends and Owl at Home with me when I was learning to read. I was encouraged to read for pleasure from an early age and never lost the love of the escapism a good book offers.
I had some amazing teachers (looking at you Mrs. Field, Mrs. Blonkowski, and Mrs. Shank) who also encouraged my love of writing. Although my husband beat me to my dream of one day being a published author, there’s still hope! I may be posting chapters of my works in progress on this blog as well.
I’m currently living in Maryland with my husband, daughter, and dog. I am looking forward to sharing my love of a good book with you!
